Cal U SMA offers many opportunities to go to conferences (including AMA's International Collegiate Conference in New Orleans, LA) as well as tours to marketing departments / advertising agencies. At these conferences, our members get a chance to network and educate themselves further inside the marketing world. At these marketing department / advertising agency tours, our members get a chance to explore career opportunities and ask questions to business professionals.
SPRING 2015
AMA Regional Conference
November 7th, 2015
Three of our members took a trip to Pittsburgh, PA to attend an AMA Regional Conference held at the University of Pittsburgh to "Gain the Edge in the Digital World". At this conference, they were about to listen to guest speakers from Convestro, UPMC, Yearick-Millea (Public Relations Firm). Topics ranged from B2B marketing, SEO, and the PR industry.

AMA Regional Conference
November 7th, 2015
Six of our members took a trip to Baltimore, MD to attend Johns Hopkins University AMA's Regional Conference. At this conference, they listen to Keynote Speakers from Pandora, Ogilvy & Mather, McCormick Co., and LinkedIn while also networking with our AMA clubs.

A few of our members took a trip to Pittsburgh to tour MARC USA, a full-service, integrated marketing agency. During this visit, our members were giving a tour of the agency and were giving in in-depth explaination of life in an advertising agency. They also, met up with last year's SMA Vice-President, Rich Pierce, MARC USA's Digital Media Apprentice, who gave our members more advice.

International Collegiate Conference
March 19-21, 2015
Five of our members took a trip to New Orleans, LA to attend AMA's International Collegiate Conference. At this conference, they listen to Keynote Speakers, including Michael McCullough, Miami HEAT CMO, particpated in College2Career Panels, networked with other AMA clubs, and MORE!

Our members took a trip to Gatesman + Dave, a nationally ranked, independent, multidisciplined marketing communications agency. During this visit, our members were exposed to many different areas of an advertising agency including: public relation, finance, media buying, IT, and creative.

Our members took a trip to NYC to explore the marketing department of ELLE Magazine. Our members also received a magazine a month before its release!
